Biswa Bangla University is a flagship university project by the present state government of West Bengal. Spread across a 20 acres land is a multi-disciplinary educational institute of international standards. The landscape primarily tries to take reference from the existing BiswaBharati campus and the beautiful landscape of Shantiniketan. The red murram soil path, the 'Taalsaari' avenue of palm trees, the ravine landscape of the 'Khowai', the 'Sonajhuri' - Acacia plantations, the iconic banyan tree, and the lotus pond,- these experiences have been recreated in the campus to evoke a sense of familiarity with the surrounding landscape.
A large lake has been created to take care of the natural drainage of the site. Courtyards of different scale and size give a flexibility to the user. The open classrooms- an identity of Shantiniketan, the Tapovan- study platform and the Chhatimtala- has been recreated at different locations.
