Architect: Maheshwari & Associates
Location: E.M. Bypass, Science City
Status: Under construction
Year: 2017- present
Overlooking one of the longest stretches of high-end housing projects that is the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass is another such project comprising a solo high-rise. The project showcases a unique boundary scenario wherein one side of the plot was set against three to four meters of earth fill which in turn inspired us to design a ‘gabion wall’ to treat that facade. We designed a driveway pattern generated from two fixed angles set against a fixed width, creating a strip-like visual effect of alternating shades of grey and black. The roof-top space allocation was based on a segregation of intense and light-weight activity distribution joined centrally by the shaded cafe. A small gathering space- a mini OAT, an outdoor fitness garden, a children's' play area create a vibrant rooftop garden.
