Area: 10687 sq.m.
Client: Sonar Bangla Hotel
Architect: SAAD Artelier
Location: Taki, West Bengal
Status: Under construction
Year: 2017- present
The Hotel at Taki is situated on the bank of the river, Ichamati, and derived the waterside experience into its own landscape. An axis was generated connecting the river and the front of the hotel to generate a landscape experience which would bring the presence of the water body into the boundaries of the site. Cabanas and gazebos flank the length of the wooden deck along the infinity swimming pool looking at the vast river. A large pergola shades stepping stones amidst a water body to give visitors an experience of walking through the river into the building. A peripheral pathway and feature paving inspired by the waveforms guide movement around the site. Sculptures, planter beds, and mounds further enhance the landscape experience.
